Donna Davis is a successful serial entrepreneur, executive and influential leader, locally and nationally. She has over three decades of corporate and small business experience as well as public service with city, state and federal governments. Ms. Davis is currently the President and CEO of DIR Group, Inc., a leading business and advocacy consulting firm. Previously, Donna Davis was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2013 to serve as the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Regional Administrator for Region 9, which encompasses Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, and Nevada. As the senior executive for the most diverse and productive region, Ms. Davis oversaw access to the capital ($6.6 billion annually), federal contracting ($19 billion annually), and training services for the Region. She led a team of 138+ employees who worked diligently to help small businesses and entrepreneurs start, grow, innovate and export and served as a high profile resource for the Agency and the White House Administration.
Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Ms. Davis was the CEO of the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA), championing the needs and issues of entrepreneurs and small business owners on the federal and state levels. Under her visionary and dynamic leadership, ASBA grew substantially to be the largest trade association in the state of Arizona with over 11,000 business members.
A successful serial entrepreneur, Ms. Davis was the Founder, President and CEO of a global event management corporation and an international speakers’ bureau. Notable events included the location production for the movie Jerry Maguire, Super Bowl XXX Halftime show and conferences for HP and IBM. Notable speakers include Colin Powell, Madeline Albright, Terry Bradshaw, Jim Collins and Lisa Ling.
Prior to this, Ms. Davis spent twelve years as an influential senior executive in the high tech microcomputer industry and early in her career worked as a Park Ranger at Grand Canyon National Park.
Ms. Davis has served on the boards of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce-AZ, National Small Business Association, National Association of Women Business Owners, ATHENA International, East Valley Community Bank, Arizona Chamber of Commerce, and Women Impacting Public Policy.
For her professional success and dedication to the community, Davis has received numerous local and national awards including the 2015 California Regional Hispanic Chamber Mujere del Ano; 2011 Arizona Society of Association Executives Executive of the Year; 2010 World of Difference Award from The International Alliance of Women; 2006 Arizona Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Community Service award, 2005 NAWBO National Member of the Year, 2005 Microsoft National Entrepreneurial Star Award, and the 2004 ATHENA Leadership Award-Phoenix.
She graduated with high honors from Northern Arizona University and completed a Harvard Business School Executive Program.
